One of my favorite leathers to work with is white goatskin. I absolutely love the immaculate surface of a white hide and the potential it has for me to create something with it. I always go for soft contrasts such as white - silver or white - gold with gray or brown patina. It is also one of the hardest leathers to work with, mistakes are not allowed. So here are some of my favorite white leather bindings I made over the years. Which one is your favourite?
My own wedding guestbook
A journal bound in white leather with brass hardware
Triple Goddess journal, book of shadows
A more modern binding, The Tree of Life, handpainted on goldleaf
A very large leather journal with black metal hardware -
lock and key, brads and vintage corners and center pieces
A custom order, themed Angels, white leather journal
A classical binding with silver decoration on white leather,
with very detailed hand painting and tooling
