This journal is bound in dark brown leather with gold tooled decoration. The tooling is a geometric floral motif and it extends to the edges of the book block, which was painted by hand with a similar motif. The bookblock was cut straight, sanded smooth and then painted on all three edges. In contrast, the decoration on the cover was kept more minimal while the spine is again ornate in detail with gold and leather paint. The gold tooling was given a patina to appear more old looking.

The book measures 4.8x6.5 inches (12.5x16.5 cm). It is thick and is filled with blank, white writing paper (120 gsm). The paper is acid free and will hold well ink and dry media. The end pages are made of marbled paper with red, orange and brown veins.

This one of a kind book has a lot of personality and is going to make a fabulous functional journal and a decorative piece. I hope you will enjoy it!
