Blue leather journal with Hand painted decoration, Lotus Heart

This journal is bound in dark blue leather with smooth texture. It was hand painted with the motif of the lotus flower on both covers, in tones of turquoise, gold and white. Some details of the design were tooled with gold foil. Lotus flower symbol is very ancient and considered sacred. It represents purity because they grow in mud but are white and spotless. They represent rebirth resilience and strength since they close each evening and open every morning. Also may represent transcendence of man’s spirit over worldly matter since it blooms from the underworld into the light.
It is certainly a one of a kind binding, unique in its detailed decoration and it could serve as a companion for a personal journey, or as a wedding guest book, a heirloom to pass to the next generations.
The notebook measures 7.2 x 10.2 inches (18.5 x 26 cm). It has 114 pages (228 sides) of Fabriano artist quality paper, beige color, slightly textured, hand torn and thick. It has 200 g/m² (for comparison, photocopy paper has 90 g/m²). It is acid free, perfect for writing and sketching in any media, even watercolor.
The headbands were sewn by hand from gold and blue thread and create a beautiful model at the head and tale of the book. The endpages are made of decorative paper with a floral blue pattern.
