Natural leather journal with tooled decoration - Lattice of Dreams

This journal is bound in natural leather, the shades and differences of texture being part of its nature. I designed it to have a tactile feel, using a diamond pattern with small fleurons placed at the diagonal intersections. The natural color of the leather in combination with the darker shade of the tooling create a clean and elegant look.

The book measures 4.3 x 6 inches (11.2 x 15.5 cm). It has 130 pages (260 sides) and is filled with Favini Shiro Alga paper, an ecological paper produced from algae in Venice Lagoon. The seaweed particles are visible on the surface to give a unique natural look and its ivory color makes it fit perfectly the overall old feel of this book. The paper is hand torn, has 120 gsm, and it will hold well ink, dip pens, gel and ball pens, markers and any dry media. 

The headbands are hand sewn from brown and beige colored threads. The endpapers are made of hand marbled paper with brown, grey and ocher veins.
