Blue leather journal with handpainted decoration - September Night Skies

This journal is bound in natural leather which I hand dyed myself and decorated with sprinkles and marbled patterns. It has hues of light and dark blue and is simple but fascinating with its rich texture. I wanted it to resemble the night sky in September when it has the bluest hue due to the increased amount of Rayleigh scattering. To me the change of the sky with the seasons is truly fascinating and although I love summer, each year I can't wait for autumn to arrive because it brings with it the most beautiful landscapes and night skies. 

The book measures 10.2 x 7.3 inches (26 x 18.5 cm). It is filled with white writing paper and has 190 pages (380 sides). This paper is hand torn and has 120g/m². It is acid free, perfect for writing in ink and dry media.

The endpapers are made of Italian decorative paper with blue patterns on a warm white background. The headbands are hand sewn from blue and orange thread and make a beautiful decoration at the head and tale of the book.
