Brown Leather Journal with tooled and hand painted decoration - Cozy Days

This leather journal is bound in light brown goatskin with mate finish. It has a smooth texture and a very elegant look. I chose this very subtle contrast between the light brown of the leather and the slightly darker tooled areas, with the monochrome accents of the central panels which were painted by hand to resemble marbled texture. The entire binding has a soft, tactile feel due to the difference in textures and soft contrasts. 

This is a large journal, it measures 7.3 x 10.2 inches (18.5 x 26 cm). It has 126 pages (252 sides) of Favini Prisma, ivory color, blank, 160 g/m². The paper is hand torn and works for any media including watercolor. It is acid free and does not bleed through.

The headbands were handsewn from grey and brown silk thread and create a beautiful model at the head and tale of the book. The endpages are made of hand marbled paper with black, brown and grey veins.

This book is an art object. Its classic design and elegance make it a journal that could equally serve as a journal, a wedding guest book, or a family heirloom to pass to the next generations.
